  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate large bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk.
  7. Mix until just combined — do not overmix.
  8. Fold in the chocolate chips gently using a spatula.
  9. Scoop the batter into a greased or lined muffin tin.
  10. Bake for 18–22 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Notes

Let the muffins cool in the tin for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
